About Your Wedding

Des and Andrea with Ruth: One of the greatest gifts of being human is the capacity to give and receive love. Throughout time, and often against difficult odds, we have loved each other, and we go on loving each other and longing to be intimate with others.

A wedding is a great celebration of the love between a man and a woman. It is also a celebration of commitment and union, reflecting and honouring the coming together of two lives and the uniting of families.

Now the two of you are ready for this step. As you plan your wedding, know that you are part of a wonderful progression of history and a part of the love of generations of people in your own families.

See the Client Comments section of this website for feedback from couples who I have married.

Planning a Wedding in New Zealand from Overseas

If you are living overseas and want to come to Wellington, New Zealand to marry, there is much we can do by email to plan your ceremony. We would be in contact alot by email and I would send you questionnaires this way. We could also speak on the phone if necessary. We would finalise the ceremony by email and meet just before the wedding, when we would also have a dress rehearsal. Becka and Stuart with Ruth:

An important thing to remember when planning a wedding from overseas is to leave enough time between your arrival in New Zealand and the wedding day. This is so you can take your application for a marriage licence into Births, Deaths and Marriages and make the statutory declaration you need to. Births, Deaths and Marriages take three working days to process your application. If your schedule is tight and arriving early in New Zealand isn't possible there are some things you can do about this. For more information, please contact me or see the website of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
